Cool colors in the garage

Its amazing how color can transform a room. When we added garage cabinets to our line a few years back, I wanted to make sure that we had some very unique color choices. I looked for things that were unique and different and ways that we could make your garage stand out without having to break the bank. We offer as a base our white cabinets, but I also have added Silver Frost, and my favorite is the Black and Carbon Fiber with accent edge banding. for just a few dollors more you can tranform the way your garage will look. In the job picture we did the Carbon Fiber doors with Black cabinets then added Red edgebanding to the garage cabinet doors to follwo through the theme of his favorite football team and motorcycle brand.

New Wall Bed Ideas

I just wanted to share a couple of shots of a Wall Bed we did recently. The customer wanted to add her own touch so, we installed the framed mirrors that had been hanging on the wall for several year in the space that the wallbed was going. This gave it her own personal touch and came out great. The frames are screwed onto the face of the bed and do not need to be removed when the bed is folded down.

Organization, is it all its cracked up to be?

From time to time I run into people that give me a song and a dance on how staying organized is to hard and isn't worth the effort. I agree with them to a point. It takes a certain amount of effort to stay organized in life, not just in your closet, garage, and home office but in everything you do. Your clothes won't magically pull themselves up off the floor, fold themselves and jump onto the shelf if you put in custom closet organizers. You still have to put in the effort, but it takes a lot less effort to stay organized than it does to live in constant clutter.

What custom closet organizers will give you though is system of how to put your "stuff" away. When your shoes have a spot on the shelf just for them as opposed to in a pile on the floor, you know where they are when you need them and most importantly where to put them when you are done. Now imagine everything in your closet having a space that is just for that item. With very little effort your clsoet will stay nice and organized

Going with "cheaper garage cabinets"

I got a call the other day to come out and look at garage for some garage cabinets. I got a real good learning experience and testimonial from someone who had decided to go with a cheaper garage cabinets about 5 years back. The cabinets were all raw particlboard interiors using cheap pinch hinges on the doors. After only a few years these garge cabinets were nothing but JUNK. What a total waste of money for her as now she had to replace them with garage cabinets that would last. All the pinch hinges had broken out (see pics.), the shelves were all sagging and the raw particleboard was falling apart and heavily stained. Several areas of the garage cabinets were poorly built and had broken out. We replaced all of them with our premium garage cabinets. You only want to buy garage cabinets that are finished inside and out with quality materials. In the long run the cheap garage cabinets didn't last and needed to be rpelace, costing more than twice as much in the long run. Remember that the bitterness of poor qulaity lasts longer than the sweetness of a low price.

$300 bucks to clean out your closet!

For the last 15 years I have been helping people get there spaces organized. Closets, garages, and recently the home office. I'm kind of an oxymoron , in that I am far from an organized person, yet I sell organization for a living. Heck my wife can't even get me to put my clothes away. Recently she went on strike and instead of putting my clothes away in our beutiful closet organizers, she would kindly wash and fold them, then leave them on the bench at the end of the bed. I know I'm lucky she does it at all but, I caught on to what she was doing so I started a counter protest and let them pile up. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and gave in. Instead of just putting my clothes away, I decided to follow the advice I give to so many of my clients. Throw it out! Most closets that I see are full of stuff nobody needs or wants but they hang onto it because................. My advice is you can keep it if... you love it, need it or it makes you money.

Funny thing is as I am going through this stuff, I start finding money! So I get serious about this, and empty out the my change pot. My kids get in on it and it turns out My wife has a drawer in her closet organizer that double as a piggy bank. we empty it out and load all this spare change into several ziplock bags. They are all to heavy to carry so we put them in my pull-out landry basket and head down to the local store that has a coinstar machine and start dumping. About 15 minutes later the machine spits out our total............over $370 in change.

So in no time flat, I went through my closet, adjusted a few shelves, got it organized, donated a few items and pocketed over $300 bucks for my efforts. I guess it pays to be organized.
